Respected leaders and teachers, dear students,

          Good morning, everyone!

          Time flies, and another year has passed in the blink of an eye. As I stand here today, I am vividly reminded of the nervousness and excitement I felt last year on this stage. I am honored and excited to be here again to share and report to you all, and I am filled with gratitude. I thank the school leaders for providing this platform, allowing me the opportunity to represent Vat-Power and exchange ideas with the teachers and students of Guangdong Ocean University, Yangjiang Campus, and to give back to the campus with sincerity.

          Now, I would like to share my experiences from over a decade at Vat-Power and in the manufacturing industry, and I welcome your criticisms and corrections.

          First, I want to discuss why manufacturing is so important.

          "Industry is the foundation of our country, and a strong industry is essential for national strength." Manufacturing can greatly stimulate the development of related industries like logistics and finance, enhancing the vitality of economic development and fundamentally increasing China's economic strength and international competitiveness. In the context of global economic downturns, the rise of manufacturing is crucial for high-quality economic development and enhancing our national competitiveness. At the economic meeting that concluded last week, the 2024 economic work was systematically deployed, infusing powerful ideas and actions into next year's economic efforts. Emphasis was placed on manufacturing, highlighting the need for technological innovation to drive industry innovation, improving the new national system, implementing high-quality development actions for key industrial chains, promoting new industrialization, developing the digital economy, and accelerating artificial intelligence development. This underscores the fundamental role of manufacturing in strengthening the nation.

          In the post-pandemic era, China needs to explore new economic growth points and create more jobs. Manufacturing requires a multi-level and large-scale workforce, creating numerous jobs and strengthening China's middle and high-income groups. This brings stable economic income to countless families and contributes to long-term social stability, demonstrating manufacturing's crucial role in addressing employment issues.

          So, if manufacturing is so important, what is its core? Talent.

          "Talent is the primary resource, innovation is the primary driver." Despite a relatively weaker foundation compared to some developed countries, China's manufacturing industry is sprinting towards international levels, thanks to generations of industrial workers. The talent gap in high-end manufacturing is a key constraint on high-quality development. With the advent of the intelligent era, there is an increasing demand for skilled talent with theoretical knowledge. The future of high-end manufacturing requires joint cultivation by schools and enterprises, applying learning to practice and pursuing knowledge through investigation. Guangdong Ocean University, Yangjiang Campus, excels in integrating school and enterprise, actively exploring market-oriented talent cultivation models, and strengthening the foresight of talent training. Especially in response to the industrial status of Yangjiang, specialized institutes like the White Swan Hotel Management College, the Hardware Scissors College, and the Offshore Wind Power College were established. These institutes offer matching courses and have set up laboratories for hardware scissors, new materials, and wind power, fully utilizing the university's role in talent cultivation. This is great news for manufacturing enterprises in Yangjiang! Technological progress and innovation in manufacturing are vital for enhancing the global competitiveness of Chinese products. Vat-Power is proud to contribute to this effort, establishing the Guangdong Doctoral Workstation, the Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center, and the Talent Post Service Point. We continue to invest in technological innovation, earning recognition as a national high-tech enterprise, a national science and technology SME, and a provincial specialized and new enterprise. Vat-Power will continue to invest in technological innovation and talent cultivation, striving to be a world-class enterprise in the industry.

          Finally, the active social responsibility of enterprises, giving back to universities, and participating in talent cultivation are also of great significance to the development of manufacturing. The development of enterprises depends on talent, and the cultivation of talent requires both academic education and corporate training. Universities and enterprises are interdependent and mutually reinforcing. Guangdong Ocean University in Yangjiang has earned a great reputation, which greatly encourages Vat-Power. As a socially responsible manufacturing enterprise, Vat-Power has always focused on fulfilling social responsibilities and giving back to the community and hometown during its 35-year development journey. The establishment of the "Vat-Power Scholarship" with Guangdong Ocean University aims to fund outstanding students and cultivate more capable talent for high-quality manufacturing development!

          Soon, Guangdong Ocean University, Yangjiang Campus, will welcome its first batch of graduates. Vat-Power sincerely invites our dear students to join us for internships or employment. We will do our utmost to provide excellent learning and career opportunities, creating a broad platform for everyone to excel.
